Early Day Motion

An EDM (or Early Day Motion) can be thought of as a little like a petition that only Members of Parliament can sign. They are a way for MPs to show that they support something, in this case a decent pay rise for NHS staff. Some MPs can’t or won’t sign them but many do, and even if your MP doesn’t then by writing you are still raising this important issue with them and they can still respond in their own way. The more MPs we encourage to sign the EDM, the more visible support there will be in Parliament for NHS pay to rise.
